Ford Ecoboost Engine ECU Upgrades by Superchips

Superchips from UK have been able to improve the performance of the Ford’s 1.0-ltre 3 cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine. The upgraded ECU (Engine Control Unit) was dyno-tested and was found capable of delivering 145bhp at 6,169 rpm and a torque of 227Nm at 2,656 rpm. The original engine when tested on the same, delivered around 127bhp, which is slighter than the official rating of 123bhp.
The original direct injection turbocharged Ford EcoBoost engine is present in the European Focus and B-MAX. The ECU upgrade from Superchip is priced at about USD 713 (INR 39,749) approximately, and can be used to power all 2012 onwards models of 123bhp Ford Focus 1.0-litre Ecoboost models.The EcoBoost is said to power the upcoming Ford EcoSport in India. The first compact SUV from Ford in India, the EcoSport is expected to come in at the price range of Rs. 7-9 Lakh.
Superchips Ltd., the company behind this upgrade is a British company that specialised in electronic engine tuning of cars, established in 1977 and got its present name in 1991. Prior to this, the company was called P.J. Detection techniques. The company is well known for providing ECU upgrades that produce more power and torque.
