Ford Figo bags Compact car of the year award

The leading hatch back of 2010 in India, Ford Figo has bagged the title of Overdrive CNBC TV 18 & Compact car of the year and Viewers Choice Car of the year. The auto major Ford has given credit to its buyers for this achievement. Last year, this car has recorded a decent number of sales and has also bagged the title Indian Car of the Year(2011) on 15th December,2010. The car is bestowed with varied features and comes in a nominal price range has been highly appreciated in the domestic.

The entry of Ford Figo has ended the struggling session of Ford Motors in India. The car comes in 1.2 liter petrol and 1.4 liter diesel engine. The powerful 1196 cc petrol engine is very efficient, it churns 71Ps of maximum power and 102 Nm of peak torque. The 1399 cc Duratorq diesel engine is very silent, it churns maximum power of 69 PS at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 160 Nm at 2,000 rpm.

The car has got excellent braking system and the high end variants have also got ABS and EBD which makes this car more stable from safety point of view. The efficient Anti-lock Braking System(ABS) supports the vehicle to provide wheel lock under heavy braking situations whereas, EBD(Electronic Brakeforce distribution) reduces the braking pressure enabling more braking power. Looks of Ford Figo, exciting interior and exterior features, fuel efficiency and Ford brand tag worked as a boon for grand success of this compact hatchback.
