Ford Flags-Off Discover Smart Drive From Rajkot To Thank Customers

Ford India is celebrating its success on becoming the India's Most Awarded Car Ever. Ford India has recently been awarded with 20 automotive industry awards, Ford India yesterday flagged off the Gujarat edition of its Discover Smart Drive from Rajkot.

The lucky couple from Bangalore ,RamaKrishna Vattikutti & Radha Gunnam will get the opportunity to drive celebratory Figo across Gujrat to explore the culturally rich state.

Ford has come up with this innovative idea of thanking the customers for making Ford Figo a huge success. The three-city experiential drive campaign will connect with consumers at Eagle Ford (Rajkot), Cargo Ford (Ahmedabad), before culminating at King Ford (Surat).

In the western region Gujrat is a crucial market for Ford with a wide sales and service network spread across Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Gandhidham, Mehsana, Surat, Vadodara and Vapi.

Figo has enjoyed immense recognition and respect for its substantial offering of best-in-class fuel efficiency, space, air-conditioning, comfort and safety. Figo, Ford India's fun-to-drive compact car has attracted over 68,000 customers and is continuing to show unrelenting popularity and growth in passenger car segment.

Ford managed to bag the 'Indian Car of the Year 2011' award followed by three 'Car of the Year' titles with the prestigious 'Manufacturer of the Year'. The list of awards also includes “Small Car of the Year" award, "Compact Car of the Year" and "Viewers Choice Award”.Ford India sold 10,026 units sold in January 2011 against 2453 units sold in January 2010.

By crossing 10,000-units in January 2011, Ford has bettered its previous monthly record of 9,478, set in March 2010. More than 8,600 units of the Figo were sold in January, which marks the compact car's best monthly sales performance since its launch in March 2010.

Radha and Ramakrishna will get the opportunity to drive the thematically designed Figo. Speaking on the occasion the couple said that it is extremely heartening to be a part of the Discover Smart Drive.

The young couple has been selected from an online contest inviting young couples willing to participate in such cross country drive(s). To qualify, couples had to send in their nominations by sharing the most memorable activity that they have done on a vacation and unique destinations they have visited.
