Ford India mulls to invest Rs5000 crore on its new facility

Ford India is now looking forward to make an announcement on the establishment of its second car manufacturing plant in Gujrat. This new facility as speculated will be situated near Ahemdabad in Sanand. Rumor has it that this new plant will be built next to the Tata Nano plant in Gujrat. At present Ford manufactures its cars at the Chennai Manufacturing Facility.

The government officials said that the company has already been in discussion with the government for the opening of the new plant in Gujrat. They also added that the company has proposed to make an investment of Rs. 5,000 crore over the 400 acres of land in Sanand. The District Collector is in the process of reserving the land for Ford India for their new manufacturing facility. This land will be situated at a distance of about 40 km from the city of Ahemdabad.

Ford India also made an announcement that as they have planned to launch eight new models in the country by the end of the decade, the company has already increased the production capacity at its Chennai facility and is trying its best to work towards the other options available.

The company has already invested an amount of USD 500 million on its Chennai facility to increase the production. The company also has a engine manufacturing plant which has a production capacity of 2.5 lakh units. The company has done a great business in the Indian market till today and now with establishment of the new manufacturing plant, there is hope that Ford India would surely be able to increase its sales figures.
