Ford India registers its second highest ever sales in India in Oct, 2010

With the festive season around the corner, Ford India has got a big reason to celebrate. During the month of October, Ford India recorded its second highest monthly sales in the present year. The company successfully sold 9,026 units and experienced an increase of 161% from the period of October 2009. During the corresponding month in the previous year, Ford India had sold 3458 units. From the period of January to October 2010, Ford India sold 72,078 units. During these sales, the company saw a rise of 183% over the 25,386 units that were sold in the corresponding period in the year 2009.
Since its launch, Ford Figo passed an important milestone by the sales of 52,644 units. This model, Ford Figo has come out as the preferred choice for those consumers who seek value for money. The other models of Ford India like Ford Endeavour, Ford Ikon and Ford Fiesta also gave robust sales result and a good response from the customers during the October month. President and Managing Director, Ford India, Michael Boneham, stated that It is indeed a proud moment for Ford India to have registered its second highestever monthly domestic sales in the present year. Apart from this achievement, the company has also been successful in exporting more than six hundred and fifty Ford Figos to South Africa in this month only. The performance of the company during its October sales shows the trust and the confidence that the company has built in its customers through its products. Ford India would carry on this path of progress by moving forward through its various efforts, added Boneham.
Boneham also commented that the company is quite happy to see that its model Ford Figo crossed the sales milestone of 50,000 units. The “value for money” proposition of Ford Figo has now found resonance in the auto market, said Boneham. Also, Ford has recently expanded its hold in the Indian sub-continent by starting a new dealership in Kathmandu, Nepal. For Ford Figo product of the company, Nepal is the second export market after South Africa. As a further step for strengthening its service support, Ford India has extended its service and sales network by setting up 2 more dealerships in Pathankot and Bengaluru during the month of October.
