Ford India Starts 2011 with best monthly sales reaches 10,000 units milestone

In the very first month of the calendar year 2011 Ford India has managed to shoot up its sales four folds. Ford India began the new year with a smashing sale of 10,026 units in the very first month of 2011, which is the best sales so far. Last year during the same period only 2453 units were sold. Ford has surpassed the previous monthly record of 9,478 units in a month set in March 2010 with the sudden jump in the number of monthly sales.

The new car on the block , the multi award winner Ford Figo managed to achieve its best sale so far ever since its launch last year in the month of March. With 8,600 units sold in the month of January, the monthly sales of Ford Figo has reached a new level.

The president and managing director of Ford Figo, Michael Boneham thinks that this sudden jump in the monthly sales is an indication of more good things to happen in the later part of the calendar year 2011.

Boneham further added that the company almost tripled its sales volume in 2010 and has managed to sustain the same sales figures with a brilliant performance in the month of January 2011. He said that looking at the sales figures , 2011 is going to be an excellent year for the company. Mr. Boneham mentioned that the company has maintained the momentum of last year's performance by achieving the 10,000 unit sales mark in the first month of 2011.

Last year has been a landmark year for the company as Ford India sold 83,887 vehicles in 2010. The company's growth has been largely affected after the launch of Ford Figo in March 2010. The multi award winner car is responsible for shooting up the sales figure in 2010. Altogether 68,000 units of Ford Figo were sold in 2010. Ford Figo is among one of the best compact cars on the Indian roads today. Ford Figo's growing popularity made it win 20 awards, leaving behind a lot of other cars in the small cars segment.

Boneham expressed his happiness with the kind of response Ford Figo has received from the customers ever since the launch of the car. Boneham stated that that the company is extremely elated with the prestigious awards Ford Figo has fetched in the last few months.

Ford Figo  has consolidated Ford's position in the Indian automotive sector.

List of the awards Ford Figo has won includes the 'Car of the year award'. It has been voted as Indian car of the year by a jury panel which included leading automotive magazine editors. Some of the other awards Ford Figo has received includes, Small Car of the Year, Compact Car of the Year, Design of the Year, Viewers' Choice and Readers’ Choice awards.

Ford India has been working on expanding its service network across the country to deliver a world-class customer service. The company's dealer network is in more than 100 cities with more than 170 outlets.
