Ford kick starts Ford Figo ‘Discover Smart Drive' in Kerala

Ford Figo, the super stylish hatchback launched last year has won the hearts of many. The proof is the accelerating sales graph of Ford India. The hatchback has helped the company in changing its fortunes. The company recently revealed that in 2010 the US based auto company registered a growth of 172 per cent by rolling out 83,887 cars against 2009's sales of 29,488 cars. A major part of the company's success can be accredited to its super successful car Ford Figo.

Now Ford is all set to celebrate the success of the Ford Figo car model and has planned on a region based ‘Discover Smart Drive' around Kerala.

This unique idea of discovering the beautiful state Kerala with Ford Figo in a four day drive was initiated from Friday. The participants will cover places like Kochi, Kottayam, Thrissur, coming to the last stop that is Thiruvananthapuram.

Well it is not just about a trip but various events, fests will help connecting the dealers and buyers throughout the way. The journey is 600 km long supported by digital engagement. The rally will also feature the selected couple from Bangalore and the especially designed 50,000th Ford Figo by the renowned artist Harun Robert.

Mr Anurag Mehrotra, the Vice-President (Marketing) at Ford India, said that this event is the celebration of the success of its winning Ford Figo by jumping to be the second fastest car to achieve the sales target of of 50,000 units and also awarded as the ‘Indian Car of the Year 2011' award.

The company tripled its sales figures in 2010 and it can be mostly credited to Ford Figo the hatchback introduced last year. Since its launch in March 2010, the company has rolled out over 60,000 cars on the Indian shores. The company is also expanding on the after sales and support network as it was 100 which has been raised to 170 across India.
