Ford launches the 2014 Ford Fiesta at a cracking price of Rs 7.69 lakh!

Ford India has silently launched the updated 2014 Fiesta at a base price of Rs 7.69 lakh (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). As of now, Ford offers Fiesta with only a diesel motor having three variants - Ambiente, Trend and Titanium. The existing 1.5 liter TDCi turbo diesel engine is on duty under the hood and delivers amazing fuel efficiency of 25.01kmpl!

Exteriors
- At the outset, the car gets a new face probably the best part of the facelift, featuring second installment of Ford's Kinetic design – 'Kinetic 2.0'
- It features 'Ford’s marquee trapezoidal front grille' - Aston Martin inspired inverted trapezoidal grille with chrome inserts and a set of new swept back headlamps.
- The side profile is kept unchanged but it offers new set of twin 5-spoke alloys on 15-inch radial.
- The rear features a new elongated taillamps with LED lookalike effect.
- The trunk lid and rear bumper get refreshed, bumpers now offer twin reflectors with chrome appliqué running throughout the profile.
- The 2014 Ford Fiesta comes in 6 shades with two brand new colors - Smoke Grey and Golden Bronze.
Interiors and Features
- The interiors of the updated 2014 Fiesta offers subtle changes, it now gets Piano Black finish for the central console and door handles.
- The car features fully automatic air conditioning.
- The smart features include, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers, smart-key-less entry with push button engine start-stop, reverse parking sensors, cruise control and ambient lighting.
Updated Ford's SYNC with AppLink connectivity and Emergency Assistance
- Fiesta debuted the Ford's SYNC (powered by Microsoft) in India earlier. Now, the 2014 Fiesta is getting the upgraded SYNC borrowed from the EcoSport.
- The SYNC connects your phone to car's audio unit through Bluetooth for calling and audio streaming. All through voice controls.
- The 2014 Fiesta is also coming with Ford's 'AppLink' an App on your smartphone. The AppLink and SYNC along with voice input, controls the various functions both of car's systems and your phones.
- Initially, two India centric Apps are in sync with the AppLink - MapMyIndia & ESPN Cricinfo and one global App - Glympse
- The steering mounted controls offer easy accessibility to both SYNC and AppLink.
- The audio system also offers CD playback along with AUX-in and USB. While the decibels are powered by an on-board 6 speaker system, similar to the EcoSport.
- The Fiesta is also equipped with Emergency Assistance, the emergency service debuted with EcoSport in India.
- In an event of accident, if the vehicle's airbag is deployed, it automatically calls the emergency services -108 through your smartphone providing exact location of the crash for immediate assistance.
The 1.5 TDCi turbo diesel
- The 2014 Ford Fiesta continues to be powered by the similar 1.5 liter TDCi turbo-charged inter-cooled diesel motor.
- The engine is slightly tweaked and now generates 90bhp on tap with a maximum torque of 205Nm.
- The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission delivering 25.01kmpl.
Safety
- The Fiesta offers ABS with EBD and driver's airbag as standard across all the variants, while it offers dual front airbags in top two variants.
- The car sports 'Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) with Pull-Drift Compensation'.
- The body is crafted from a high-strength steel with ultra-strong boron steel reinforcing for better crash absorbing.
