The interior of the Hyundai Exter has been revealed, along with some of its features. Its exterior design had already been fully revealed. The Exter is now available for bookings ahead of its launch on July 10.
Decoding The Interior
The all-black interior design of the Hyundai Exter seems inspired by the Grand i10 Nios. The centre console design, a diamond pattern for the dashboard, and the turbine-shaped AC vents, bear a strong resemblance to the hatchback.
The steering wheel is the same as the hatchback and its sedan counterpart (the Aura) but is covered in leatherette upholstery. Even the seats are finished in a semi-leatherette upholstery.
It gets a fully digitised instrument cluster, which is similar to the Venue with a 4.2-inch TFT MID in the middle. Other features confirmed are an 8-inch touchscreen system, wireless charging, cruise control, automatic AC, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. The infotainment system supports up to 60 BlueLink connected features, voice commands, multi-language infotainment, and home-to-car voice commands through Alexa in Hindi and English.

Dimensions Revealed
Hyundai states that the Exter has a wheelbase of 2450mm and a height of 1631mm. The wheelbase is the same as seen on the Nios, but it’s 111mm taller.
Other Confirmed Details
The Exter will be offered in five variants - EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect. Powering it is an 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, which will be paired with 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions. There will also be a CNG option at launch with a manual transmission.
Hyundai earlier confirmed the presence of features like an electric sunroof and dual-camera dashcam. Safety features will include six airbags, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.

In terms of passenger safety, it will come with six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking camera, and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages.
Expected Price And Rivals
We’re expecting the Hyundai Exter to be priced from around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Fronx.
