Ahead of its global premier on June 6, the Honda Elevate has been teased yet again. It will be the Japanese carmaker’s first brand-new car for India since 2017, after the WR-V, which was a derivative of the Jazz hatchback.
The teaser shows a silhouette of the rear profile of the Elevate. It will carry an upright stance at the back, with the boot lid extending away from the windscreen glass area. This image also shows that the Elevate will sport the silhouette of a traditional boxy SUV, similar to several other compact SUVs.

Going by the earlier sketches, the Elevate will be a stylish SUV with visual highlights such as LED headlights with DRLs, blacked-out alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, and wraparound LED tail lights.
In terms of features, one can expect a touchscreen system bigger than the City’s 8-inch screen, cruise control, automatic AC, a digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, and a wireless charger. Safety could be enhanced by up to six airbags, a 360-degree camera, traction control, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
The Elevate will most likely get its power from the City’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which currently claims 122PS on the sedan. We’re also expecting the strong-hybrid powertrain to be offered here, which could make it the third compact SUV with a fuel economy of over 25kmpl. There won’t be any diesel engines on offer.
