HM plans to roll out a new hatchback and a sedan

Now a days, Hindustan Motors is going through a bad phase with rapid decline in their sales. The Indian government was the whole sole support of Hindustan Ambassador till date but, now that the Indian government is also diverting towards the other options like Maruti Suzuki SX4 and the home grown Tata Manza. Hindustan Motors is pondering to bring some revised and also some new models of cars in the future. It is speculated that Hindustan Motors is bringing a new retro Ambassador sedan car and another retro Ambassador hatchback car in the coming year. So, there can be new add ups in the Indian car market from the Hindustan Motors and it seems that HM is also ready to be into the competition.

It is believed that a group of about 30 engineers have been hired to renew the design of over fifty years old patent look of the Hindustan Ambassador car. Onio Design, a Pune based company devoted to car designs, has been appointed for the purpose. Some of the features which give traditional feel to the Ambassador cars and which are liked by the Indians a lot may be retained in the new Ambassador models.

Hindustan Ambassador will bring their new retro cars with a major change in their engine configuration. It is expected that the new Hindustan Ambassador retro cars will come up with a 1.8 liter petrol engine for their petrol variant and a 1.5 liter common rail turbo diesel engine for their diesel variant. The Hindustan Ambassador sedan car is expected to equip a 1.8 Liter BS4 petrol engine and a 1.5 Liter CRDI diesel engine. Ambassador sedan may come up with exciting new features like ABS, EBD and leather seats and various other features.

The Ambassador hatchback car will be measuring less than 4 meters which will repel the excise duties imposed by the Indian government. The Ambassador hatchback car is expected to be available with a competitive price tag of around Rs. 3.5 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh which will attract a big crowd of buyers towards it. A common rail diesel engine and the spacious interior in this retro hatchbacks will make it a hit among the Indian customers.
