If recent sales figures are considered, Honda Siel India has definitely lost its position in number of section in the Indian car markets. With some analysts blaming on pricing factor of Honda Jazz, others are complaining on the low availability of diesel engine variant in Honda cars. Needless to say, Honda cars lost major market share to its competitors like Hyundai Verna, Maruti SX4, Volkswagen Vento, Fiat Linea and Maruti Swift Dzire.

Now it seems like Honda got the wind regarding the main issue due to which they were misplaced in the market. As per reports, Honda is analyzing the doorway to enter the diesel car segment in the Indian auto market.If official reports are believed, company is planning to place a diesel heart in their most popular car Honda City. According to the company, the first car to get a diesel heart will be the Honda City.
Senior Vice President (sales & marketing), Jnaneswar Sen, said that the craze of diesel segment cars has increased to great levels in past one year due to the increasing difference between diesel and petrol prices in India. He said that company is now giving priority to the plan of driving big brands with good figures and the plan with initiate with Honda Brio.

But as per reliable sources, Honda had removed the older version of diesel engines which were not according to Honda city design. So, now the company is developing new 1.4L and 1.6L diesel engines for their most famous car. But as far as reports are coming, Honda will require two years in developing the diesel engine and switching its Honda City to “Honda City diesel”.
Furthermore, as per speculations,Honda is also considering Honda Civic model for its diesel engine. Also Market speculations are reporting that the new diesel heart Honda Civic might come added with 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine, which is likely to deliver power of 100 BHP and produce torque of 200 Nm.
