Honda has relaunched Honda Civic sedan in the Chinese market as Dongfeng Ciimo. When a car manufacturers rolls out a car in the western countries, the Indian buyers desiring to buy that car have to wait for like 8-10 months more to get a hand on it, sometimes the model is not even launched in India. Few of the car manufactures have released their fresh models in India, the latest being Maruti and now the bandwagon is joined by Toyota who are going to update Toyota Qualis and Chevrolet Tavera. The introduction of new models does not mean that the company is going to scrap off the models presently running on streets in fact as long as there is a demand for good mechanical efficiency and fuel economy they there tight to stay aboard.
Honda premium sedan Civic available in the Indian car market is its eighth version and as per reports has a better design in comparison to the new one launched in Japanese market. Honda Civic launched is rebadged as Dongfeng Ciimo for China and the car will be marketed as a middle class sedan in China and the car will be manufactured under the Dongfeng-Honda JV. AS for the power, the sedan will come with a 1.8L, i-VTEC engine that claims to give a 14 kmpl fuel economy.
The ambience is quite similar to the Honda Civic found on Indian roads ; however the China version Ciimo will not have any steering mounted control. Ciimo will be offered with both manual as well as automatic options and the price is tagged at Rs.9.3 lakh(approx price) for the entry level variant.
