The all-new SUV from the house of Honda is the Japanese marque’s first brand-new model for India after 2017

Update (04/09/23): Honda has announced the prices of the Elevate SUV.

Honda Elevate

The Japanese auto giant has revealed its brand-new SUV, the Honda Elevate. It’s the first Honda SUV in India to not use the traditional ‘R-V’ nomenclature and is also the brand’s first all-new car after a wait of six long years. The bookings for the Elevate will be opened in July while the launch is expected in September.

An Eye-Catching Design

Honda Elevate Front

The Honda Elevate carries a bold, boxy design language with a slight crossover appeal. The SUV gets a massive grille, a sleek set of LED headlights and DRLs and a slim bumper with a gray element.

Honda Elevate Side

On the sides, the Elevate gets body cladding and a traditional SUV look with squared wheel arches, but here the crossover look can be seen more prominently. It gets ORVMs mounted on the door panel which are usually present on the A-pillar. This look is further complimented by 17-inch diamond cut black and silver alloy wheels.

Honda Elevate Rear

The rear profile gets a sleek set of LED tail lamps with a connecting reflector element that houses the Honda logo. The body cladding continues from the wheel arches to the rear bumper, which also gets a gray element.

A Feature-Laden Interior

Honda Elevate Cabin

Honda has moved away from the outdated and simple interior design like of the City, for a more premium and stylish experience. Inside, you’re greeted with a neatly laid out dual-tone black and brown dashboard with what appears to be leatherette upholstery for that upscale feel.

The Elevate is a feature-rich offering, with niceties such as an electric sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster.

Safety? Safe!

Safety features of the Elevate SUV include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, hill descent control (only for AT), and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Active safety is further taken care of by radar-based ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), which gets automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and high-beam assist.

Familiar Powertrains

Powering the Elevate is the City’s 1.5-litre petrol engine, which will make a similar 121PS and 145Nm. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic, the latter getting paddle shifters too. Like many contemporaries in the segment, there won’t be any diesel engine on offer for the Honda SUV. Honda might also offer a 1.5-litre engine with strong-hybrid technology later on, as seen on the City Hybrid

Price And Competitors

Honda Elevate

As said earlier, the prices of the Honda Elevate are expected to be out later this year in September. We’re expecting it to be priced from Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The SUV will rival stalwarts like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and MG Astor
