He added that the growth has been fuelled by its popular sedan Honda City, which continues to reign the premium sedan segment with its unmatched performance.

The Honda City is currently one of the highest selling car in the starting range sedan segment, where it competes with the likes of Maruti SX4, Hyundai Verna Transform, Fiat Linea and Ford Fiesta. The Honda City model contributed for more than 75 percent of the total sales of the company at 4,259 units in Aug 2010.
Besides Honda City, the sales figures of other India portfolio cars of the company are as following -

Honda launched a new variant of the hatch Jazz christened as the Jazz X a few days back. Moreover, the company is also in the final preparation of the launch of its much anticipated compact hatchback named as 2CV for the time being, that is expected to be launched in the Indian market by mid- 2011. The company had showcased a concept version of this model at the Delhi International Auto Expo in the month of January this year, where it attracted a huge crowed of auto enthusiasts and visitors.

Now with Hyundai refreshing its Verna and VW launching the Vento, it looks like the competition could get stiffer for the City in the coming months.
