Honda India to export Honda Brio to neighboring countries

Recent update from Indian Automobile industry states that Japanese car maker and world’s largest engine maker, Honda Motor intends to formulate India as the export center for its upcoming launch “Honda Brio”. The new Honda Brio launch is expected during the festive season this year. As per reports, Honda Brio India will be manufactured at Honda’s Uttar Pradesh unit using 80 percent of in-house components. Further, Honda Brio will be exported from India to other Asian countries namely Burma, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

President and CEO of Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, Takashi Nagai said that Honda Brio India is designed and crafted specifically for Indian customers. He also added that Honda India is also targeting other Asian countries for export purpose. Currently Honda Siel is exporting other Honda cars like Honda Jazz and Honda City to these markets. As per reports, the car giant Honda Motors which is marking presence in India through JV with the SIEL group, earlier revealed the prototype of Honda Brio India car in Bangkok 2010 and announced their intentions of launching it in India in 2011 with price between Rs. 4-5 lakh.

According to Car experts, Honda Brio India will definitely experience good competition with the existing key players of small segment cars like Maruti Swift and Ford Figo. It is worth mentioning that, small and compact cars contribute 70-80 percent of the total car sales in India. However, showing exceptional sales figures, Honda Siel added a total sale of 2,012 units in April and Honda is also amplifying its capacity of manufacturing engine and electronic components in India.
