Honda Jazz 1.5 launch, just a rumor

Recently we all heard the rumor about Honda Jazz being launched soon with a new 1.5 litre i-Vtec engine. Earlier the same model was out in the market with the 1.2 litre i-Vtec engine. As per a close source to the development the launch of the new version is not happening and the model will continue to be produced in India with the same 1.2 litre i-Vtec engine. ”

This just cracks the nut which declared the launch of a superior capacity engine for the Honda Jazz. According to the sources, it is being suspected, that it might be Honda’s marketing strategy to increase the overall sales of Honda Jazz to spot it as a hot new hatch in the auto market. Even then, the 1.5 litre Honda Jazz happening would be quite cynical and we need to wait and watch till the time next Honda Jazz is out in the market.

Well on other part it might be an authentic move from Honda, just because of two reasons. Firstly, as a smaller 1.2 litre petrol engine it might lose the excise duty waiver offered to it, which will definitely increase its cost price and eventually the sales. Secondly, the base price of the model is quite high as compared to its sedan complement not only in India but in almost all countries, which makes this premium hatch non feasible in the current auto market.
