Honda new small car to be unveiled during next festive season

Honda Motors seeing the festive months magic on the Indian auto market, wishes to enjoy the same fruits next year. Honda Motor's small car is speculated to roll in the Indian auto market next year after October.

Tatsuya Natsume, the marketing director for Honda Siel Cars in India by confirming the news said that, the company is hopeful to launch the small car before next year's festive season. The company will manufacture the small car in the company's Greater Noida plant.

Honda Motors will price the small car under Rs 5,00,000 which will directly give competition to the established cars in the Indian auto Industry such as Hyundai i20, Chevrolet Spark, Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo and the likes.

Natsume also ushered on the future plans of the company that the company will start the production of the new small car in the existing unit but as it is a volume driven car segment and to increase the number of vehicles, the company may come with an additional facility. In terms of expanding across India, the company is increasing its dealerships. At present, the company is working with 121 dealerships and by next year company will increase the count to 150.

Honda Motors India, this year in October recorded growth with its premium models. The sedan and flagship model of the company, Honda City recorded a sale of 4,316 units, the hatchback model Honda Jazz registered sale of 332 cars, the premium luxury sedan Honda Civic accounted to 401 cars, the luxury sedan Honda Accord sales were 197 units and the SUV Honda CR-V registered sale of 29 units.

Honda is a premium auto mobile company which is into manufacturing of cars and two wheelers. The giant auto maker has said that it will soon introduce a prototype of the new Small Car Concept which will be exhibited at 27th Thailand International Motor Expo 2010. The new small car is expected to be launched in Thailand and India by 2011. The prototype from Honda originated from the concept car which showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in January, this year. The 27th Thailand International Auto Expo 2010 will start by the end of November. As per Honda Motor Company Ltd., two different versions will be exhibited. The Indian version of the small car will be developed for Indian buyers and the Thai model will be as per the standards and norms of the Thai auto market.
