The Beijing Motor Show 2012 that was commenced yesterday in China has already witnessed newest of concepts and cars from auto makers across the globe. The auto giant from Japan, Honda revealed two new concept cars namely, Honda Concept C and Honda Concept S. The first one of the Honda concept cars, Concept C is a newfangled budget saloon for the car market of China. The next one, Concept S is a neoteric compact car for the global market. It seems, the name of these cars have been decided after much thought, the ‘C’ in the concept C stands for ‘cool, challenge and China’.

The Honda concept C also features a dragon inspired angular styling to represent the Chinese orientation of this C concept car. This new car was designed in collaboration by the design houses of Honda in both China and Japan; the product planning on the other hand was completely led by the operations of Honda in China. The Chinese car market is expected to see a production version of this car somewhere in next year. The Honda concept S will make its debut in the emerging car markets at a global level. This car is mainly targeted at the Chinese market which explains its revelation in China. The S in the name of the car signifies the attributes of this car which are ‘stylish, smart and surprise’.

The power source of this car will be a hybrid powertrain, the name for which has not been specified. Honda has a lot in store for the emerging car market of China and has also confirmed the launch of Acura ILX and RX models later this year. Also in queue for launch is the new Honda NSX which is expected to make an entry in the next three years. Another significant car gracing the stands of Honda at the Beijing Motor Show is the Honda Ciimo saloon. The Honda Ciimo saloon is 4545mm long and boasts a 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine under the hood. This car has been developed collaboratively by Dongfend and Honda.
