The Korean car maker Hyundai is all set to launch its Hyundai i20 Fluidic in 2012 in India. The new Hyundai i20 Fluidic is a facelift version of Hyundai i20 hatchback. The 2012 Hyundai i20 Fluidic will get the rear and front end of its body restyled, while the engine specifications will continue to be the same. Besides the facelift version of Hyundai i20, the company is also working hard on next generation i20, which is different from the i20 Fluidic and is expected to be released in next few years. The next generation Hyundai i20 will feature new styling and new engine options.

However, nothing has been confirmed regarding the next generation Hyundai i20, but sometimes rumors do come true! The next generation Hyundai i20 platform could be used for an entry level sedan, that would replace the aging sedan, Hyundai Accent. This next entry level sedan will directly compete with Toyota Etios and new Maruti Swift Dzire. Hyundai might bring in this entry level i20 very soon and place it just below its Hyundai Verna Fluidic. Apparently, Hyundai’s entry level sedan could have a length of four meters so that it could fit into the small car segment and make the best use of the excise duty advantages, which Indian government offers for small cars.

So far, there are no concrete details on the Hyundai's compact sedan, but hopefully Hyundai India will soon make everything official. On the other hand, one could expect the compact sedan to come in both petrol and diesel engine options. Hyundai India has always offered the consumers with wide variety of cars, be it small car like Hyundai Santro or the hatchback Hyundai i20. Therefore, one could expect the new Hyundai i20 hatchback and the unamed compact sedan to be as grand and splendid as its other cars.
