    Compact SUVs September 2023 sales

    In September 2023, many carmakers registered a healthy MoM (month-on-month) growth, while all models in the top 15 best-selling cars list crossed the 10,000-unit mark. With SUVs being all the craze in recent times, it’s no doubt that models in the compact SUV segment fared well too. Here’s a breakdown of how each compact SUV performed in September 2023 sales:

    • With nearly 12,000 units sold, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Mahindra Scorpio N duo, collectively, took the second spot on the charts, overtaking the Maruti Grand Vitara. The SUV duo’s MoM figure grew by almost 20 percent.

    • Closely tailing the Mahindra Scorpio duo with a difference of 100-odd units was the Maruti Grand Vitara. Its YoY (year-on-year) market share went up by more than 7 percent.

    • The Kia Seltos was the last SUV on this list to cross the 10,000-unit sales mark, and also to have a market share of more than 10 percent.

    Honda Elevate

    • With more than 5,600 units sold, the Honda Elevate saw the biggest rise in its MoM numbers at over 101 percent. It was the same month that the carmaker started delivering the SUV to customers.

    • Less than 4,000 units of the Toyota Hyryder were sold in September, while just managing to cross its average 6-month sales figure. Its YoY market share dropped by more than 77 percent.

    • The Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun duo’s September sales ranked between 1,500 and 2,500 units. Both the SUVs had a market share of under 5 percent each.

    MG Astor Black Storm edition

    • With less than 1,000 units sold, the MG Astor finished last on the compact SUVs’ sales chart in September. Its market share was close to a mere 1.5 percent.
