Expected later this year after the reported world debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Hyundai made the world debut of the official next-gen i20 rendering couple of days ago. Speaking in this context, India will be the first country to get the new-gen i20; this shows Hyundai's concern towards India! Moreover, after the Indian launch Hyundai will made world debut in October in Paris.
Speaking of the Interiors, the new i20 features beige-and-black interiors, ditching the heavy silver finished central console. The top layer of the car is dressed up in beige instead of black in the outdoing car, so its like more beige and less black. The hatch features ice blue back-lit illumination, including the steering wheel mounted buttons. The instrumentation cluster sports a large central multi-functional display.
The new Elite i20 will stick to it name 'Elite' and with its looks and features, it appears that it will redefine the segment once again! The current car offers six-airbags, clutch start system, auto headlamps and wiper, etc. the new hatch will certainly retain all these with added goodies. Speaking about the features, the expected add-ons in the new i20 are – rear AC vents, built-in memory audio system and diamond cut alloys, to name a few.
Mechanically, the new Elite i20 is reportedly getting the same powertrains of the outgoing car. On the petrol front, the hatch gets a 1.2 liter 4-cylinder Kappa producing 83bhp and 113Nm of max torque mated to a five speed gearbox and an agiler 1.4L 98bhp/ 136Nm petrol . While the diesel version gets a 1.4 liter UII CRDI gathering 89bhp and 220Nm of max torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Moreover, there's no hint on the automatic transmission yet on any of the fuel trims.
