Hyundai EON base variant likely to be priced at Rs 2.7 lakh

Hyundai India is aggressively preparing to launch its small car, Hyundai Eon on 13^th of October. Hyundai EON will be the cheapest car so far from Hyundai Motors, Hyundai EON price is expected to start at Rs 2.7 lakhs for its base variant D-Lite. The hatchback is said to be offered in six variants – Hyundai EON D-Lite, Hyundai EON D-Lite (O), Hyundai EON Era, Hyundai Magna, Hyundai EON D-Lite Magna (O) and Hyundai EON Sportz.

The Korean brand expects the small car to directly compete against Maruti Alto in the segment. Looks like, Hyundai Motors is expecting its Hyundai EON to be a major success as the automaker has already shipped around 7,000 units to various dealers across the country in anticipation of huge demand. The Hyundai EON specifications reveal a 3-cylinder 814 cc petrol engine to churn out a peak power of 56 Bhp and a peak torque of 76.5 Nm with the help of five-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai EON boasts of an excellent mileage of 21.1 kmpl. Hyundai Motors haven’t offered the air-conditioning and the power steering in the base variant Hyundai EON D-Lite in order to keep the low cost.

The power steering will be offered starting from the Era version of Hyundai EON, though the air-conditioning is available on the D-Lite (O) variant. The top-variant Hyundai EON Sportz will however come with driver-side airbags as a part of safety measure and the entertainment in form of music system. The entertainment console is also offered on the Hyundai Eon Magna (O) variant as an optional package. The prices for the rest of the variants are speculated to be - Hyundai EON D-Lite (O) at Rs 3 lakhs, Hyundai EON Era around Rs 3.11 lakhs, Hyundai Magna -Rs 3.3 lakhs, Hyundai EON D-Lite Magna (O) at Rs 3.5 lakhs and Hyundai EON Sportz at Rs 3.7 lakhs.
