Hyundai EON, the small hatchback by Hyundai India is going to be launched soon in Indian market and the bookings for Hyundai EON will probably start in the second week of October. Booking amount for Hyundai EON will be around Rs 10,000. Hyundai EON priced at an expected tag of Rs 2.5 lakh will target Maruti Alto in India. Car experts have also started betting that will Hyundai EON bookings beat Maruti Swift’s impressive figure of 1,00,000 bookings? Hyundai will take full advantage of the festive season in India by launching Hyundai EON hatchback in October to capture the urban market.

The delivery of this car will begin around first week of November. Car analysts felt that Hyundai EON will replace Hyundai Santro but Hyundai EON which is developed in India, specifically for this market will co-exist with Hyundai Santro, at least initially, and then Hyundai might decide to phase out the Hyundai Santro. Hyundai EON is powered by a 814 cc three cylinder engine generating 55.23 bhp power coupled with 75 Nm of torque. This power figure is greater than Maruti Alto’s and Hyundai EON is also expected to return about 21 kmpl mileage comparable to Maruti Alto. At almost the same price, people might prefer Hyundai EON over Maruti Alto. However, the high end variants of Hyundai EON can reach up to a price of Rs 3 to 3.2 lakh.

The Hyundai Eon will be slightly longer and wider than the Maruti Alto. It will also have a bigger and wider wheelbase, which means better ride stability and more legroom for passengers. Boot space is estimated to be 215 litre, which is good enough in this segment. EON hatchback will use the same fluidic concept seen in the Hyundai i10 and Hyundai Verna. The rear of Hyundai EON is in sync with some of the new generation cars such as the Maruti A-Star, Chevrolet Beat, and the lunching tomorrow-Honda Brio. Large rear bumper, funky tail lamps, stylish hatch door structure and a high mount stop lamp are adorned in Hyundai EON to lure customers.
