From the unmasked images it can be deduced that Hyundai Eon doesn’t look bulbous hatchback and is expected to find favour with a wide section of entry level small car buyers. Upcoming car, Hyundai Eon price will be unveiled on 13th October, 2011. However, in most likelihood, the price cannot go beyond the range of Rs 2.5 lakh-Rs 2.7 lakh. Hyundai Eon will target first time buyers in India and launching just before the auspicious festival of Diwali will be a bonus for Eon.

Hyundai Eon is aiming to eat up the sales of Maruti Alto, the best selling car in India. Hyundai claims an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 21.1 kmpl for the Eon, which makes this small car more fuel efficient than its biggest rival Maruti Alto. The car would definitely stand apart from Tata Nano which is by far the cheapest car in India. The small car is expected to house a 814cc, three cylinder petrol engine that generates 55 Bhp of peak power and 76.5 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be mated to a five speed manual transmission. The company is backing on Hyundai Eon with great deal.

Bookings of the new car Hyundai Eon have already commenced and Hyundai Eon can be registered at nearest Hyundai dealership at a booking amount of Rs 25,000. To enhance curiosity of Eon, the company has dispatched over 7,000 units of the hatchback to Hyundai dealerships across India. This is a strategy that Toyota adopted for Liva hatchback. The deliveries of Hyundai Eon are also expected to start soon. Hyundai Eon will be available in six variants and Hyundai India is aggressively targeting even small towns in India. Hyundai Santro Xing as speculated earlier will not be discontinued but will be sold alongside the Eon. However, Hyundai Santro can gradually be phased out after staying for some time in Indian market.
