Apart from minor cosmetic updates, the car gets additional features and a bigger diesel engine as well
The updated Grand i10 has already made its way to most Hyundai dealer stockyards and the prices will officially be announced tomorrow i.e. February 6, 2017.
On the styling front, the car features a few minor tweaks including a bigger, hexagonal front grille, a new front bumper with C-shaped fog lamp housings, a new design for the 14-inch alloy wheels and a new rear bumper with round reflectors.
Spy shots indicate that the version sold in India won't get the front grille integrated fog lamps we've seen in the European-spec Grand i10 (pictured), but we will get daytime running LEDs. Additionally, the refreshed Grand i10 gets a new paint shade named Red Passion, which replaces the Wine Red exterior colour option.
While this is only a mid-life refresh, the car will receive a few feature updates too. The goodies list is expected to include a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink (like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis’ SmartPlay infotainment system) on the Sportz (O) and Asta variants. While the mid-range Magna grade gets a smaller five-inch touchscreen display, the unit will only get the usual connectivity options (Bluetooth, AM/FM, AUX and USB).
The car will also feature a reversing camera and automatic climate control. Since there are no changes to the car’s dimensions, the cabin space will remain the same as before. Like in the outgoing version, safety features like dual airbags and ABS will be available, but only a driver airbag comes as standard.

A big change is, in fact, a mechanical update. The petrol Grand i10 will continue to use the 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT mill that makes 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque, but the old U2 CRDi diesel engine has been reworked and is now a 1.2-litre unit (earlier a 1.1-litre mill).
Output figures for the diesel engine go up from 71PS/160Nm to around 75PS/190Nm. The diesel engine will come paired exclusively with a five-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol mill will get the same five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission options as before.
Expect prices for the updated model to start at around Rs 4.50 lakh and top out at around Rs 7.50-7.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai will offer the updated Grand i10 in five variants - Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta.
Since the facelift is now ready for sale, if you do plan to buy the outgoing version, be sure to push for discounts! Additionally, since the Grand i10 has been refreshed, expect the Xcent to get updated later in 2017 too.
