Hyundai i10 Electric launched at Auto Expo

Today at the Auto Expo, Hyundai Motors India Limited launched an electric variant of its flagship model i10. This launch has seen the presence of Shahrukh Khan who is the brand ambassador of Hyundai. This model has debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2009. This electric variant of i10 is powered by 49KW electric motor which will deliver the maximum power of 67Kw and maximum torque of 21.4Kg. This electric motor will facilitate the car to reach acceleration from 0 to 100Kmph within 15 sec.

width=300The electric variant is a zero-emission vehicle and is specially designed for the customers who are looking for a vehicle with the best possible ecological footprint. Hyundai i10 electric is based on EV technology and it is equipped with advanced Lithium Polymer battery which will provide driving range up to 160Km in a single charge. The car has come up with dual battery charging option with normal charging duration of 5 hours.

Company officials has announced its commercial launch by 2011 in Indian market though its production of Hyundai has already begun in Korea.
