The new variant gets just bare basics with silver steel wheels

The i20 will soon be available in a base-spec Era variant.
-
The new variant will get 14-inch steel wheels, manually adjustable outside rearview mirrors, halogen headlamps, and only front power windows.
-
It will miss out on a music system, projector fog lamps, steering-mounted audio/phone controls, and steering adjustment.

Expected to be a petrol-only model with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai is reportedly set to launch the i20 Era variant, which will replace the Magna as the new base variant. It has now been spied at a dealership ahead of its imminent launch.
The Era variant looks barebones, missing out on a lot of features from the Magna variant. It gets halogen headlamps, fender-mounted indicators, manually adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), a plain black grille, 14-inch steel wheels, and a roof-mounted antenna.
In comparison to the Magna variant, it misses out on projector fog lamps, 15-inch wheels with covers, gloss black finish for the grille, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and LED tail lamps.
The cabin has also undergone a major change, with many features being dropped. There’s no music system, rear power windows, front armrest, steering adjustment, and central locking! It gets trip meter controls mounted on the steering wheel, the Magna’s analogue instrument cluster, four-spoke steering wheel, a front 12V socket, and AC rotary dials.
The Era variant could be a petrol-only offering, similar to the Grand i10 Nios Era. It will get the 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The hatchback is also offered with 100PS 1.5-litre and 120PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines. The 1.2-litre petrol engine gets an optional CVT as well in the higher variants.
The new i20 Era variant is expected to bring down the starting price to around Rs 6 lakh. It’s currently priced from Rs 6.85 lakh to Rs 11.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), rivalling the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz and Volkswagen Polo.
