The Fluidic design language has come a long way!

Hyundai India has released official sketches of its upcoming SUV, the Tucson ahead of its official launch on November 14. The rendering gives us an insight into how the Fluidic design philosophy has matured since the first time it broke cover.

The Tucson, Hyundai say, is the first SUV to be developed under Hyundai's new development philosophy called 'Innovation of Fundamentals' that aims at continuous improvement in levels of safety, performance, ride & handling, durability and NVH. "The designers of the Tucson strived to create a SUV ahead of its trend with distinctive and stylish looks which is both innovative and futuristic," read a press release issued by Hyundai.

Over the years, the Fluidic theme has become a lot more mature, and subdued. The trademark Hyundai elements are very much in place, but the overall theme is definitely more European in nature. The big SUV was designed to convey 'Style and Dynamism', claims Hyundai. Have they pulled that off with the Tucson? Well, compare it to the previous generation that went on sale in India, and you would have no problems believing them.

The Fluidic theme follows on the inside as well, with a flowy dash and a lot of tech. Expect the top-spec Tucson to feature leather upholstery, an AndroidAuto/Apple CarPlay equipped touchscreen infotainment system and a whole lot more.

On the engines front, the Tucson will feature the same 2.0-litre petrol engine that we've seen in the new Elantra and feature a new 2.0-litre diesel as well. Prices are expected to be a notch above the Mahindra XUV500 and in line with the Honda CR-V - between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.
