Korean auto major Hyundai Motor Company is planning the diesel variant of its premium hatchback car 'i20' by 2009 end, as the strategic plan of introducing at least two new products in the Indian market yearly for the next couple of years. The company is looking forward to increase its share in the 10 lakh-units Indian car market through newer products.
Hyundai Motor currently have a 20.4 per cent market share. For the year ending 2009 Hyundai Motor India is planning to grow the market share by 3 percent, Hyundai Motor Senior Vice-President (Asia & Pacific Division) Young-Kil Chun said in Seoul. He is banking on industry forecasts the Indian market will grow to about 15 lakh units by 2012-13.

We should by then have a market share of over 25 per cent, exporting to well over i10 countries. So we will grow along with the Indian market and keep pace, Chun said. Hyundai Motor has plans to introduce at least two new products in the Indian market every year for the next couple of years.
