The South Korean Ambassador, Kim Joong Keun during his three day visit to the country had apparently met Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi to discuss the Hyundai India's plans of setting up a new manufacturing plant in the industry-friendly state of Gujarat. He said that the South Korean auto giant might decide to set up a new plant in Gujarat if they are able to produce the appropriate plan and blueprint that works well for both the parties. After the recent success of Hyundai EON in India, the company’s sales are booming and new plans are cropping up for the car maker.

To meet the growing demands for Hyundai cars in India especially EON, it is quite necessary for Hyundai India to move into the right direction and expand the facilities. He further said that the Gujarat Government is offering attractive incentives to the auto major to facilitate the establishment of the plant. Keun seemed to share a positive view on the subject saying that there is no apparent reason, stopping the Korean manufacturer from making their entry into Gujarat if the state offers the productive environment for setting up the new facility. He held discussions with 20 industrialists from Ahmedabad on Friday to understand the suitability of the place for the proposed project.
