Hyundai small car to compete with Maruti Alto

Country's second largest car maker, Hyundai Motor India (HMI), has stated that its plan of introducing a small car in the auto market of India is well on course. Hyundai Motor India has got its presence in the A segment with its flagship model Hyundai Santro and Hyundai i10. The company will be launching the new car to give a tough competition to Maruti Alto. This new small car of Hyundai is being in the development process at the Research and Development centre in Korea. Arvind Saxena, HMI Director (Sales and Marketing), commented that the car is on course and the development of the same is going on in South Korea. He also added that the company is progressing well on the launch of the new car and everything is going on as planned.

However, Saxena did not make any comment on the timeline set for the launch of this new small car of Hyundai Motor India. According to the company’s statement, the new model will compete with Maruti Alto, the largest selling car in India. Maruti Alto has registered the average sales of more than 20,000 units each month. HMI CEO H W Park stated that the company is also planning a strategy according to which new models will be launched in every 2 years. He further added that the premium SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) Santa Fe will be introduced next month in India.

Saxena and Park were present to launch the upgraded hatchback Next Gen i10 in the state of Tamil Nadu. Hyundai Motor India has invested about Rs 400 crore for the upgradation of this model. This car has got an all-new front design and also a new chrome radiator grill. The 3D wraparound headlamps are also there. The car will be priced at Rs 3.48 lakh (Ex-showroom Chennai).
