Since a couple of months, Hyundai has been thoroughly testing Hyundai Sonata also known as Hyundai i45 in the country. This new generation premium sedan was spotted ample of times on the roads of Chennai as Hyundai India has its manufacturing plant over there. Now speculations suggest that Hyundai is planning to manufacture Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Santa Fe locally. Localizing the product will surely certainly cut down huge amount of cost on imports and also the prices will become more reasonable and competitive.

The deflation of Indian rupee has caused a hike in the prices of vehicles that are exported, thereby disappointing the consumers to a large extent. According to the director of marketing of Hyundai India, Mr. Arvind Saxena, the company has already begun developing Hyundai Sanata Fe in the country from August 2011. Consequently, Hyundai will be able to manufacture about 225 to 250 units of Hyundai Santa Fe each month. The new Hyundai Sonata is expected to be launched next year and to keep the sales up and rising, the firm will have to manufacture the sedan in the country itself.

2012 Hyundai Santa Fe will also be completely made and developed in the country itself. This new vehicle by Hyundai India will get so many features that will surely lure the consumers significantly. The new fluidic style accompanied with highly competitive price, which would help Santa Fe to lock horns with cars like Honda CR-V and Toyota Fortuner. On the other hand, Hyundai Sonata sedan's price is expected to be around Rs. 18 lakh. The sedan is likely to gun straight against Honda Accord, Skoda Superb and Volkswagen Passat in the Indian car market. Rumor has it that Hyundai Indiacould introduce the 2012 Hyundai Sonata at the 2012 Auto Expo, which would be held from 7th to 11th January 2012 in New Delhi. This sedan will be launched with diesel motor under the hood.
