As Hyundai pushes its N division forward in the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show with the revival of N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept, it seems they have already started using their in house tuning department. They have revealed a faster version of the ongoing i20, i20 N Sport in South Africa. Like all the other tuning brands, N have made significant changes to the appearance of the car to made it stand out from its factory tuned brothers.

The Hyundai i20 N Sport gets tweaks on the outside to make it look more sportier. The enhancements include a set of new 17-inch alloys, front and rear bumper trim finishes, all new body kit and side skirts, N-badges on the front mudguards and boot with a rear boot spoiler. Under the hood, the i20 N gets a 1.4 litre petrol powered motor which produces 113bhp along with 160Nm of torque, which is a significant increase from 98.6bhp and 136Nm in the ongoing 1.4 petrol version. All this is mated to a 6 speed gearbox which powers the front wheels. To enhance the performance even further, this powerhouse is equipped with a stainless steel free-flow CAT back exhaust system. To keep this power on the ground, the i20 N Sport has a tweaked suspension setup which is firm with stiffer coils for a sportier performance. The car comes with 4-wheel electronic 4-channel ABS with EBD system and employs ventilated disc brakes on the front and solid disc brakes at the rear.

As of now, the N badge i20 remains limited to the foreign markets. But with manufacturers like Fiat Abarth and Volkswagen bringing their hot hatches in India, we hope Hyundai also experiments with their N brand and gives auto enthusiast in our country to get their hands on the powerful i20 N Sport. Presently, there is no hot hatch from Indian automakers but a promising product in the hatchback segment is about to come, we are talking about the upcoming Tata Zica which is slated to be launched by the 2016 Auto Expo.
