India bound Next-gen Ford Figo wins 2015 Car Of the Year & Best Design - Latin American Awards

The next-gen 2015 Ford Figo (known as KA in Brazil) has won the Best Car of Latin America (2015 Car of the year) - ‘Americar Award 2015’. The lil’ Ford has also received Best Design Award, 2015! The panel had 11 motoring journalists from various countries of the Latin American region. The hatch along with its twin-sedan went to sale recently in Brazil and are expected to enter India in the first half of next year and are reportedly the very first products of the company to roll out from the new upcoming plant in Sanand, Gujarat.

The vehicle in Brazil has garnered overnight success, the Blue Oval company says that they have sold more than 30,000 vehicles since the launch in September. And since the Brazilian market sentiments are similar to that of ours, expect both compact sedan and hatchback to be sales magnet for Ford India as well. 

With the Ford SYNC on board, the 2015 Figo will create new standards in the segment. Moreover, AppLink (smartphone applications support) has also been launched in India along with Emergency Assistance, these features will also make their way into the duo. SYNC offers Bluetooth mobile connectivity with voice commands, while AppLink lets you use your selected mobile apps through voice commands using SYNC. Emergency Assistance calls the emergency services - 108 in case of any casualties (if airbags deploy). Speaking of the engine, the 2015-Figo duo will be powered by a new 1.0-liter TiVCT 3-pot engine (80-85 bhp, 105 Nm) petrol, while diesel is expected to have the 1.5-liter TDCI from Fiesta (89 bhp, 204 Nm).
