India stands as 3rd Largest Market for Rolls Royce in Asia Pacific

Rolls Royce, a super luxury car maker has declared Indian market to be the third largest market in Asia Pacific region. India stands third with China and Japan holding first and second position respectively. The British Luxury car maker has its products priced up to Rs. 4.25 crore and with that India is third preferred destination for the company.
British major was able to mark a total sales of 10 units last year and intends strong to sell striking 70 units by the end of year 2010. Indian Auto market has lined up opportunities not only for the sedans and hatchbacks but also to the super luxury creations.
While making the big announcement, Hal Serudin who is the Rolls Royce Motor Cars Asia Pacific Manager commented that the company is producing its products at full capacity and a huge number of cars are going in Asia Pacific region. He also said that Indian market is something company is looking forward for as it is one of the top three markets in this region.
He also added that China holds the top position with total of eight dealerships in country and that leads to hundreds of sales whereas Japan, the second largest market is having total two dealerships in the country. He also said that the company has good plans to make a sale of around 60 to 70 units in the lucrative Indian markets with a view that company was able to sell just 10 units last year due to recession.
At present Rolls Royce has two dealerships in India situated in Delhi and Mumbai with five major models in its portfolio, Ghost priced up to Rs 2.8 crore and Phantom priced between Rs 3.75 crore and Rs 4.25 crore. The company is expecting to sell 50 units of Ghost this year.
Coming to Global statistics, the company has made successful sales of 2,007 units in the period of January to October 2010 which is a stand out performance against 1,002 units in same period last year.
A good news comes from Yadur Kapur who is the Rolls Royce's dealer for the National Capital, when he said that Ghost order list is pretty long up to 2011 and Phantom is sold out till April.
