India to become hub for luxury cars

The Indian auto industry's current upward trend has been attracting many car makers. The automotive fraternity witnessed a whacking 30 per cent growth in the last fiscal year. It sure has been successful in luring companies like Mercedes, BMW and Audi. And is all set to spill its magic in the coming times on the top slot luxury auto giants across the globe. Until now India was considered a small car market but slowly it is turning into a luxury hub. Luxury car segment alone posted twenty per cent growth in the last few years. Names like Lamborgini, Rolls-Royce, Bugatti, Audi and Porsche have been added in the Indian auto industry. These brands are aiming high for India and eye at building a strong market for themselves. This is not it, a lot of other big names in the luxury car segment across the globe are now going to be a part of the Indian automotive market soon.
Ferrari is on its way to make its official debut on the Indian shores, the auto giant has struck a deal with The Shreyans Group to mark its entry in India. The Shreyans Group will be looking after the distribution as well will also be responsible for importing the cars (Ferrari) in India. Ferrari apparently has planned to open its first showroom in Delhi followed by the other in Mumbai. It will showcase these models in India, Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari 599 GTB, Ferrari California and the recently launched Ferrari FF with prices ranging from Rs 2.7 to 3.5 crores.
Masserati is another sports car brand which falls under Fiat S.p.A. portolio. Masserati will roll out its cars in India in the month of April however it is yet to decide on its Indian partner. It is supposed to include the following cars under its brand name, Masserati Quattroporte sedan, Masserati Gran Turismo S and Masserati Gran Cabrio with prices ranging between Rs 3 - 5 crores.
Another Swedish auto biggie Koenigsegg recently marked its entry by launching its first car Koenigsegg Agera in India today. The Swedish company has joined hands with InterGlobe Enterprises to distribute cars in India.
These new car brands will gun straight against the already existing car brands in India. The entry of these luxury car brands will qeer the pitch amid the existing as as well forthcoming car brands in India.
