Toyota, the Japanese car maker has unveiled the 2014 Corolla sedan at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. The European spec saloon is expected to go on sale in the Gulf region by March 2014. Only petrol version of the car will be launched, and it will be imported from Taiwan.
Based on the Furia Concept car, the 2014 Corolla will get two petrol engines - a 1.6-litre and a 1.8-litre. Both vehicles will be offered with a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The standard model is likely to get leather seats, climatronic control, touchscreen navigation and others.
The new model has a longer wheelbase than the previous model, making it more spacious than ever. Toyota also displayed Prius and Camry hybrids, kitted Fortuner, FJ Cruiser models and the mildly-facelifted Prado.
For the last 30 years, Toyota Corolla has been a huge hit in the Gulf countries. The same model is also expected to come India by the next year. If media reports to believe, the company might showcase the new Corolla at the next year's Indian Auto Expo.
