The Innova Crysta is launching on 02 May 2016. The car has grown in size compared to the outgoing version, and has a plethora of new features as well. Several leaks regarding details of the car has kept the buzz going around Toyotas best-seller in the country.
We put together a list of five things you must know about the new Innova.
1. Diesel engines
The car will be offered with two diesel mills viz. a 2.4-litre and a 2.8-litre, that produce 149PS and 174PS of power respectively. The smaller engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox while the larger one meshes with a six-speed automatic. Toyota is tight lipped about any petrol engine but we do expect one to power the Innova soon.
2. Safety features
This is where Toyota has made it sure the Innova leads the pack. The carmaker has installed seven airbags, vehicle stability control and hill-start assist. It secured a 4-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries) crash test.
3. Two drive modes
The Innova will get two driving modes, namely Power and Eco. The latter optimizes the engine for better fuel efficiency, whereas the Power mode lets one utilize full potential of the motor.
4. Features
As mentioned earlier, the Innova Crysta has got a lot of updates when compared to its predecessor. The car has segment first attributes like automatic climate control with rear auto AC, LED projector headlamps, one touch tumble & space-up rear seats and back door easy closer. Some other important features include an eight-way power adjust driver seat, seven-inch touchscreen audio with navigation and smart entry with push button start. The new Innova measures 4735mm x 1830mm x 1795mm (L x B x H). Compared to the previous iteration, it is 150mm longer, 65mm wider and 35mm taller. However, wheelbase remains identical at 2750mm.
