Is this the 2014 Ford Figo based compact sedan?

Ford, the American automaker is working on a next-generation Figo hatchback, which will go on sale in Brazil next year. Media reports suggest that the vehicle will also make its way to India, and is expected to be showcased at the next year's Auto Expo. The next Figo will be based on the previous generation Fiesta platform, and the company will use thin, high-strength steel throughout to make it a lightweight city car platform. The same platform will also underpin the compact sedan, which is likely to replace the Classic sedan in India.

The TruthAboutCars has managed to click the vehicle, which seems to be the compact sedan version of the next Figo. The spotted vehicle is fully camouflaged, and it is difficult to figure out the exact styling . However, the headlamps, the hexagonal grille an the wing mirrors of the car resembles the next-gen Figo. The test mule of the compact sedan was spotted in suburban Detroit.

If the compact sedan comes to India, it will compete against the likes of Chevrolet Sail sedan, Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Tata Manza. It is also expected that the vehicle will carry the same very famous 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre TDCI turbo diesel engines. While the diesel model will get a five-speed manual transmission, the petrol model will come with two choices - a five speed manual and an automatic transmission.
