Jaguar celebrates 50 years of Iconic E-Type

Year 2011 is a special year for Jaguar as it will complete 50 years of successful run of its most desirable and famous car, the Jaguar E-Type. The celebration of this prestigious event will be in face of a high-profile motoring events all through the year.
The anniversary celebrations will be take to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and will continue the celebrations to Goodwood’s Revival and Festival of Speed, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Nurburgring Old Timer Grand Prix and many other events at company's dealers and lifestyle events all over the globe.
The car was launched back in the year 1961 and attracted a huge demand in market with its attractive features and performance. The model is a symbol of trust and exceptional output and this is what has brought the model so far. The big success of Iconic E-Type lies in the fact that it is permanent exhibit in New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
The existing models of iconic E-Type are built with better concepts which act as a benchmark in the segment. The model is still referred for building up Jaguar’s modern range. This new range assures a rare combination of performance, comfort, high end technology and worth noticing design.
Addressing the proud occasion, Mike O’Driscoll who is the Managing Director in Jaguar Cars and Chairman Jaguar Heritage commented that the age of this E-Type model has not affected the popularity of this famous model. He said that the stunning model has been a sure shot ever since its launch and still makes the company's enduring and iconic symbol. He said that it is one of the top model ever created in the history of the company by Jaguar's founder, Sir William Lyons.”
The car is special to the company not just for its performance and high class designing but also its popularity among users. The owners of this wonder car include celebrities such as George Best, Brigitte Bardot, Tony Curtis and Steve McQueen.
Mr. Ian Callum who is the Jaguar Design Director said that it is a tough job to even make an estimate of the enumerable effect the E-Type left on the users when it was unveiled in 1961. He also said that the model was a revolution in the world of cars and still maintains a high demand in market.
The sizzling beauty was launched back in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show in. The car was built to churn out a max power of 150mph.
