Jaguar F-Type launch in July, coming with 2 engines

Jaguar’s new sports car, the F-Type is slated to launch in India by sometime in July. The company plans to get two engine variants on the F-Type, the V6 S and the V8 S. The V6 S is a 3.0-litre supercharged engine that churns out 375bhp of power while the V8 S is the 5.0-litre supercharged petrol that produces 490bhp of power. These will be mated to a 8-speed transmission, while the V6 is skipped for India.

The F-Type is the first sports car from Jaguar after 38 years. That is when the last E-Type had rolled out from the factory. F-Type is Jaguar’s comeback car in the sports car territory and we shall soon shall our review of this sports car, by sometime next week. The F-Type will compete with the Audi R8, Porsche 911 and the Aston Martin Vantage V8.

The F-Type has an all aluminium chassis that has been augmented to provide the stiffest possible underpinnings for the suspension with rigidity gains of more than 30 per cent compared to any other Jaguar models. The silhouette of the F-Type makes it look lower thanks to the prominent swage line. There is also the “light catcher”, which allows the door surface to wrap around the side of the car. At the rear, the E-Type tail lamp design is retained. However, the boot closing has been changed to the conventional style to increase the practicality.
