Jaguar Land Rover to recruit 130 graduates in 2011

Jaguar Land Rover, the Tata Motors-owned British luxury carmaker intends to employ 130 graduates in the period 2011 for filling up the various vacancies all over different verticals. Jaguar Land Rover has placed more than hundred graduates during the year 2010. Those graduates are being positioned in different roles across the business. Hence, in the last three years, the total number of graduate recruits in JLR has been more than 320. JLR even stated that the company intends to rise that number even further by recruiting 130 graduates further in the year 2011.
The two British brands had employed around 70 graduates and under-graduates in the year 2009 as the JLR sales had started moving in a positive direction since late 2009. Now the company is all ready to launch a few new models for strengthening its position further. Recently, JLR has also made an announcement that it will recruit another 1,275 people, other than the graduates. At the Halewood facility of JLR, the company has added one thousand new jobs for producing the Range Rover Evoque, upcoming SUV of the company. At the Solihull plant in West Midlands, around 275 persons were hired so that the rising demand could be met.
Presently, Jaguar Land Rover recruits more than 16,000 persons directly. The company successfully supports around 1,30,000 jobs in the UK via its direct employment. During the month of August, the JLR sales were at 16,220 units, up 29 per cent from the same month previous year. Last month, the sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand increased by 33 per cent at 3,788 units.
