Jaguar’s F-Type will make a public debut at the Goodwood festival. Earlier this year, the Coventry-based auto maker had announced the launch of the F-Type at the New York Motor Show. First unveiled as the C-X16 concept at the 11th Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Jaguar had plans to introduce this sports coupe in a segment below the existing XK.
The F-Type will be driven up the famous Goodwood Hill by Jaguar’s Head of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross. Powered by a supercharged V6 or V8 engine, the F-Type is currently undergoing development prior to going on sale mid-2013.
Jaguar has broken the X legacy and named this new coupe as the F-Type, after the legendary E-Type. The D-Type was the first one and then came the E-Type. Now, it is time to continue with the same string with F-Type as the next latest entrant.
