Jeep India Reveals Details Of Grand Cherokee

Jeep India has revealed details of the Grand Cherokee which will be launched around the festive season, on its website. The famed American automaker made its official entry in the country at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo and displayed the Grand Cherokee along with the Wrangler

The Grand Cherokee will be available in two trims — the Limited and the Summit, along with its performance oriented version — the SRT. The Limited and the Summit variants are powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel while the SRT version is pulled by a massive 6.4-litre HEMI V8 petrol. The V6 diesel generates 243PS while the V8 petrol puts out a blistering 481PS. Both the motors are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The diesel delivers a certified fuel efficiency of 12.8kmpl.

Speaking of the features, the Limited comes with FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) five-inch touchscreen based Uconnect infotainment system, while the Summit and the SRT feature a massive 8.4-inch Uconnect unit. The latter option offers navigation as well. The seven-inch digital instrument cluster is standard across the range. A 19-speaker Harmon Kardon system is standard in the SRT and an optional feature with the Summit, while the Limited comes with a nine-speaker system. The Summit and the SRT also come with rear seat entertainment.

The SRT features an all black cabin while the remaining two offer either an all black option or a black and beige theme. The seats are upholstered depending on the colour theme of the cabin. The front seats can we adjusted in eight different positions with four levels of lumbar support . They (front as well as rear seats) also come with a heating function. The Summit and the SRT feature ventilation across the front seats.

On the outside, the Limited and the Summit come with Bi-Xenon HID headlamps, while the SRT offers adaptive Bi-Xenon HID lamps. All the variants offer LED taillamps. The Limited rides on 18-inch wheels while the Summit and the SRT offer 20-inchers.

In terms of safety, most of the features are standard across the three variants. The cars offer dual front, driver knee and side as well as side curtain airbags. Rest of the features include -- hill ascend and descend, traction control, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, rain brake support, front and rear parking sensors with rearview camera among others. The Summit and SRT additionally offer rear electronic limited slip differential. Besides these, the SRT further offers Brembo performance brakes and adaptive dampers.

All the three variant come with a two-year, unlimited kilometres warranty and roadside assistance.
