JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship

JK Tyre FMCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) National Racing Championship, launched in 1998 is a championship which is considered to be a stepping stone for racing drivers who want to get into international motorsports.

This championship includes various Races including Formula LGB Swift Formula Rolon, Super Saloon, Jr. Touring Car and Volkswagen Polo Cup. In the Round 4 of the 15th JK Tyre National Racing Championship that concluded at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT), Ashwin Sundar from Chennai, Arjun Balu from Coimbatore and Feroze Khan also from Chennai achieved double victory in different categories.  

In the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup races, Ameya Walavalkar, returned best lap timings, especially in the Race One of Round 4 which was under the 2 minutes bracket, achieved for the first time since the inception of the race in 2010.

In the LGB Formula 4 category, Ashwin Sundar stood out in the third race and with two wins he leads the points table. He has also won the first race and finished at the second position in the second race.

Coming to the Indian Touring Cars Class race, Arjun Balu from Coimbatore started at the pole position and finished at the first place as well. The second position and third position saw a tough challenge and Leelakrishnan from Coimbatore stood second and Siddharth Kishore from Chennai finished third.

In the Indian Junior Touring Cars event on the other hand, Mumbai’s Fahad Kutty leads the points table. He started 22nd on the grid and finished at the fourth position.
