Land Rover India to launch Discovery Sport on September 2nd; bookings commenced

Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL) has officially started taking the bookings for its Discovery Sport, the first new member in the Discovery family. The SUV will be making its Indian debut on September 2nd 2015.

“The new Discovery Sport, with new levels of refinement, engineering excellence and customer focused design offers the ultimate use of interior space with segment-leading versatility and Land Rover’s legendary all-terrain capability,” the company said in a statement. 

The Discovery Sport will replace the Freelander2 and measures in at 4,599 mm in length, 2,173 mm in width, 1,724 mm in height and 2,741 mm in wheelbase. It is the first mid-size luxury SUV in the segment to offer a 5+2 seating option.

The Land Rover range in India currently includes the flagship Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 4, and locally manufactured Range Rover Evoque.
