Land Rover scoops two prestigious What Car? Awards

Land Rover went through an exciting evening with its two models grabbing two prestigious titles for the company at What Car? Awards ceremony 2011. Land Rover Discovery 4 brought home '4x4 of the year' title at What Car? Award ceremony consecutively for the seventh time. Next in line Range Rover Evoque bagged Reader Award for the most exciting car of 2011.

Company's Land Rover Discovery 4 left behind strong competitors like Hyundai Santa Fe and BMW X3 and grabbed the prestigious title for the company to be described as "an iconic car". The vehicle has made the company proud many a times since its launch by bagging almost 150 awards since 2004 when Land Rover Discovery 2 was launched.

John Edwards who is the Global Operations Director in Land Rover addressing the prestigious occasion commented that Land Rover Discovery 4 is a stunning model built on latest technology and superior designing and the model has again made the company proud by bagging the title of 4x4 of the Year at What Car?

The beautiful SUV from the company comes loaded with a high technology 3.0 LR-TDV6 engine for UK customers as entry level engine. The stunning 2.7 LR-TDV6 engine assures low CO2emissions and gives higher fuel efficiency as against its 3.0-litre counterpart.

The latest variant of this model included Gradient Acceleration Control and Hill Start Assist which made the car more interesting and worth recognition.
The What Car? 4x4 of the year award was grabbed by the limited edition of this car, Discovery 4 'Landmark' which will be made available for sales later this month. The car includes a unique designing of black and white combination and the interiors are given great color schemes giving it a prominent look. The efficient car assures smooth drive even on bad rad conditions.

Coming to the Reader Award for the most exciting car of 2011 was grabbed by ever favourite Range Rover Evoque which is designed for superior performance and high class looks. The model will be made available for sale by company in the later months of this year. The model is based on the Land Rover LRX concept and will be manufactured at company's Halewood facility. The model will be made available in coupe and 5-door body style assuring high class performance and looks.

Gerry McGovern the Design Director of Land Rover commented that Range Rover Evoque bagging this prestigious title shows the immense excitement among the audience to welcome this model.
