Volvo Car India is organising a press conference under its 'Clean Air' initiative at the Embassy of Sweden, New Delhi. It will be addressed by Charles Frump, MD, Volvo Car India. Frump will be talking about the carmaker’s electrification strategy for the country followed by a corporate announcement. Along with Frump, HE Klas Molin, Swedish Ambassador to India, will also be present at the event. Stay tuned for more updates.

In the next three years, Volvo plans to launch four new PHEVs in the country. Could be Plug-in hybrid variants of the XC40, XC60, S90 and the upcoming S60.
By next year, some of the Swedish embassy cars will be Volvo PHEVs.
The carmaker will offer two charging points (included in the price) with the hybrid cars, which will be installed by Volvo itself.
Volvo will focus on cars, not infrastructure. It plans to work on solutions that are not dependent on infrastructures.
Volvo also plans to launch a range of Plug-in Hybrid in the next 3 years
Volvo is set to become the first carmaker to locally assemble PHEV in the country. The XC90 T8 will be the first model to be manufactured in India that will roll out by the end of 2019 from Volvo's Bengaluru facility.
Volvo believes PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is the way forward for electrifying Indian car scene.
The carmaker is also said to be developing clean zones in heavy traffic areas
Volvo has developed DIY (Do it yourself) dry air purifiers. It has two membranes that act as filters to remove air pollutants
