Made in India Ford Figo Showcased in South Africa

Ford’s latest offering, the all new Figo and Figo Sedan now have been revealed in South Africa. The Figo sedan is the above 4-meter version of Figo Aspire that the company is showcasing in India. Both the cars will be launched in 2015 and will be manufactured in Sanand, Gujarat and then exported to South Africa. It is to be noted that Ford India is currently exporting Ecosport, Classic and Figo to the same country.
There is no word from Ford wing of South Africa regarding the technical details of these two vehicles, but the cars will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. It is presumed that both these car will get the 1.2 litre TiVCT petrol and 1.5 litre TDCi diesel motors to select from and will come with options of both manual and automatic.
Both these engines will be present in the upcoming Figo Aspire in India, the car which will be probably launched next month. Speaking of the new features, the Figo series gets all the elements for success. A great design, latest from Ford that incorporates sweptback headlamps, hexagonal front grill, prominent wheel arches, shoulder lines running towards the rear, indented tailgate with a compact taillight cluster.
In terms of safety, the upcoming Figo lineup will be a benchmark for the rest as it will be getting 6 airbags, segment first Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill launch Assist and ABS-EBD. While the insides will be bestowed with Ford MY Dock, programmable MyKey, automatic climate control, infotainment system with Bluetooth telephony and voice activation.
